I have found many recipies to make a beer batter but what is the best BEER to use for fish and/or veggies?
Filed Under Make Good Beer | 10 Comments
I tend to drink Guiness, Blue Moon, Bass and Fat Tire but also the occassional Corona and Budd at parties. I don’t want the flavor to overpower the fish or veggies but I’m not eating something bland and chugging my good beer to cover the lack of taste either.

Why do Americans suck at making beer?
Filed Under Make Good Beer | 19 Comments
Im talking about beers from the United States here. Ive recently done 100 beers from around the world in 20 days and the only one from America that was half decent was Budweiser, and it was nothing special. On the other hand, go south of the border and down a magnitude in living standards and wealth, El Salvador makes better beer than you!?!
Brazil aswell, not to mention, as im sure you all know, Mexico makes a decent brew.
The Chzech do make great beer, and drink the most per capita too, but lets focus on the question here.
“technical difficult…” i think you need to calm down a bit. There is a general concensus that American beer is not as good a lot of other beers out there. And of course im talking about export and mass produced beers. Microbreweries and hame made beer is fantastic, i have 2 brews on the go as it is. And i know that you no doubt have some fine beers over there, but export beer is what the world see’s of your beer, and that is what the question is aimed at. Its not an insult unless you see it that way. You admit your export beer isnt the greatest standard, thats what im talking about.
I had to pose the question more generally.
I reccomend you have a beer to cool down….

I have only made a few batches of chilis and they were both pretty good. I used Fat Tire and Leinies Creamy Dark Lager. Any other beers that you can think of that would give it a good flavor?
My recipe is a standard chili recipe consisting of:
ground beef
spices
onion
peppers
pinto, black, and kidney beans
diced tomatos
tomato paste

Besides Bass, what is a good beer on tap to make a “Black and Tan”?
Filed Under Make Good Beer | 4 Comments
The beer distributor in the area no longer carries Bass, Bevmo doesn’t carry it. So besides Harp— what other beers will layer and taste great in a “Black and Tan” ; Beer available in keg only please.
I know i put down Harp— Harp is a lousy beer for “Black and Tans” Ales work best– Wonder if ‘Fat tire” does well ?
